Groups
We offer three different training groups that are tailored to the abilities & goals of our athletes and independent of the respective level of fitness or previous running experience. Regardless of what training group appeals to you, we make sure to train as one group whenever possible to support the collective in reaching new heights!
IRC ZRH uses TrainingPeaks as its primary training platform. It allows us to fine tune plans and sessions to the individual levels and to communicate with our members on a personal basis.
Competition
Do you want to improve your performance over the marathon, half marathon or 10K distance? IRC ZRH offers training plans for events scheduled in and around our home town of Zürich, which include:
Zurich Marathon (incl. the half marathon & 10K)
Greifenseelauf (half marathon & 10K)
Zürcher Silvesterlauf (all categories!)
By signing up as an athlete of our Competition Group, you get the opportunity to train with other runners who prepare for the same events, a standardized training plan that is tailored to your current abilities as well as 3x in-person group training per week guided by our coaches. As part of your annual membership fee, you can continue training with the group during the regular club schedule, which runs on a quarterly basis after the home races have concluded.
Performance
Is your goal to continuously improve your fitness without having a clear goal race in mind? Our Performance Athletes train with a 12-week training plan curated by our coaches, tailored to your current abilities, and renewed every quarter. The plan includes time trials and other opportunities to test and self-measure your progress.
In addition to the standardized plan, you’ll benefit from 3x in-person group training sessions per week guided by our coaches, ensuring hands-on support and motivation. You’ll also have access to regular virtual group check-ins to ask questions, provide feedback, and stay on track!
Community
Are you interested in joining our club training, social events, and connecting with like-minded people? Our Community Athletes have the opportunity to flexibly drop in for club trainings whenever it fits their schedule. Members of this group have access to all IRC ZRH benefits without having to follow a specific training plan. Fun & entertainment is the primary focus of this group because connecting performance & community is a key aspiration of IRC ZRH!
